A news story about an Android update does not mean every phone receives it on the same day. Before attempting a workaround, identify whether the story concerns your exact device, region and update channel.
The version displayed to a reader and the version used to order Android app releases serve different purposes. Understanding that distinction helps explain why a familiar-looking release label may not tell you which installation is newer.
A sensible update plan preserves a way to recover important work and leaves time to check the phone afterwards. The goal is not to predict every possible problem; it is to avoid making a routine update your only copy of an important file.
The Android release is one compatibility condition, not a complete specification. When one phone can install an app and another cannot, compare the requirements before assuming the store or the phone is broken.
